Profoto invests in U.S., moves global marketing to Los Angeles

Swedish lighting manufacturer Profoto announced it is increasing its focus on sales and marketing and is moving management of the global marketing department to Los Angeles, Calif. Sara Strid takes on a new role as vice president, North America and Global Marketing, based in Hollywood. The investment in super-powerful LED light for film production requires a new marketing and sales organization and will now be led from this region. The company launches the first film production product at CineGear, at Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, California.

In other news, the company announced Carl Bandhold, executive vice president and CFO, will leave the company

“Carl and I have great respect for each other, and I have appreciated our cooperation,” says Hedebark. “However, the conditions have turned out differently than what we anticipated when he started at Profoto and we have therefore agreed that this is not the right solution for either Profoto or Carl. He will therefore leave during the second quarter, and I have started a recruitment process for a new CFO.”
